SARVSS is dedicated to supporting victims of crime by providing compassionate, accessible, and effective assistance tailored to their needs. Our services are specifically designed to help individuals impacted by crime, offering timely information, meaningful referrals, and empathetic care to guide them through the recovery process and the complexities of the criminal justice system.

Our Court and Support Navigators are highly trained professionals committed to ensuring every victim is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. Through their expertise, victims receive guidance and support at every stage of their journey. This includes providing information, referrals, and gentle handoffs to partner organizations to ensure their unique needs are addressed.

 

Our Commitment Under the Alberta Victims of Crime Act:

As outlined in the Alberta Victims of Crime Act, SARVSS upholds the following principles:

  • Recognition of Victims’ Rights: Victims are entitled to be treated with courtesy, compassion, and respect for their dignity and privacy.

  • Access to Information: Victims have the right to information about the criminal justice process, the status of their case, and available services and resources.

  • Participation in the Justice Process: Victims are supported in their participation in the justice system, including submitting Victim Impact Statements and being informed of developments in their cases.
